Quality & environment

FM Mattsson and Mora Armatur largely owe their success over the years to all the skilled and creative inhabitants living and working in the village of Östnor in Dalarna.

The local craft traditions have been passed down over many generations, who have closely guarded their knowledge about the innermost secrets of brass. Brass is the region’s gold.

We were first to introduce innovations such as ceramic seals, non-freeze garden taps, soft closing single lever mixers and thermostatic mixing valves.

On the inside of each product are more than 100 years of unique, patented solutions.

To keep our products on the leading edge, we invest strongly in R&D. For example, we have an advanced water laboratory and sound laboratory to verify and optimise our products. To improve and upgrade our products, we use advanced development tools such as CFD and CAD for design and calculation. We have northern Europe’s most state-of-the-art brass foundry.

Environmental care is important to us. Based on FM Mattsson’s ECOSAFE environmental programme and Mora Armatur’s ESS (Energy Saving System), we work to minimise our products’ overall environmental impact. Our environmental efforts span the entire production chain, from energy and water saving technology in our mixer production to the various production stages, transportation and energy consumption in the factory.

Our products won the “Stora Energipriset” energy award in 1999.

Our products and processes are also ISO certified. ISO certification is a form of quality assurance that certifies that a product complies with prevailing laws and regulations.
